Bookd ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Bookd mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the App.

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, username, and optionally a profile photo.

User Content: We collect content you create through the App, including match reviews, ratings, comments, discussion messages, and lists.

Usage Data: We automatically collect information about how you interact with the App, including pages viewed, features used, and device information (device type, operating system, app version).

Favorite Teams and Leagues: We store your selected favorite teams and followed leagues to personalize your experience.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the App
• To personalize your experience (e.g., showing relevant matches and content)
• To display your reviews, ratings, and comments to other users
• To send you notifications about match activity, new followers, and interactions with your content
• To moderate content and enforce our community guidelines

3. Information Sharing

Your profile information (display name, username, avatar, favorite teams) and user content (reviews, ratings, comments, lists) are visible to other users of the App.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

• Service Providers: We use Firebase (Google) for authentication, data storage, and cloud functions. See Firebase Privacy Policy.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and safety.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Google Cloud / Firebase servers. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted data transmission and secure authentication.

5. Your Rights

• Access: You can view your personal data through the App at any time.
• Update: You can update your profile information, display name, and avatar in the App settings.
• Delete: You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.
• Block: You can block other users to prevent them from interacting with your content.

6. Push Notifications

With your consent, we send push notifications for match updates, new followers, likes, comments, and other activity. You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings or within the App.

7. Third-Party Services

• Firebase Authentication: For account creation and sign-in
• Firebase Cloud Firestore: For data storage
• Firebase Cloud Storage: For media uploads
• Expo Push Notifications: For delivering notifications

8. Children's Privacy

Bookd is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not create an account or submit any personal information to us.

If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete the information as soon as possible. If you believe we may have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at [email protected].

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
